Richard “Dick” George Hartleben passed peacefully on July 21st , 2022, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, at the age of 91 years old. Richard was born September 15th, 1930, in Rochester, New York, to Sally and Herbert Hartleben. Richard joined the United States Air Force in 1949, in Rochester, NY. He served in the Korean Conflict, and was honorably discharged in Youngstown, Ohio, in 1952, with the ending rank of Staff Sergeant. Richard married Ms. Patricia Ellen Meade on October 15th, 1955, in Rochester, New York. They were married for 54 years and had five daughters. Richard went on to work in law enforcement and eventually security for Kodak from which he retired from.
Richard is preceded in death by his loving wife Patricia Ellen Hartleben, daughter Lois Hartleben, parents Sally and Herbert Hartleben, and by his siblings.
Richard’s greatest joy in life was his family and is survived by his daughters Donna Hartleben , Dianne and husband Steve Howcraft, Pat Binnert, Mary and husband Fred Black, “brother-out-law” Joe Ryan, sister in-law Mary Helen Meade and by numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. Richard is also survived by his grandsons Richard and wife Rie Binnert, John and wife Francine Binnert, and Nicholas and wife Staci Howcraft; granddaughters Katrina and husband Michael Jillson, Kristin and husband Arley Umphries, granddaughters Kelsey Black, and Shawna and wife Marie Black. Richard also leaves behind 8 great grand children who he loved dearly.
To honor Richard’s memory contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Research Hospital.
A Visitation will take place from 2:00PM-3:00PM on Tuesday, July 26th, 2022, at Daniels Family Funeral Services – Sara Rd., located at 4310 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, New Mexico, 87124.
