Richard T. Harrelson

Richard (Rick) T. Harrelson passed away May 10, 2017, in Albuquerque, surrounded by family and friends.  He is survived by his daughter, Jill Harrelson of Washington, D.C.; son, Jay Harrelson and his wife Erin and their daughter Kyla, of Jacksonville, FL; mother Wilma Harrelson of Albuquerque, NM; brother Larry Harrelson and his wife Beverly of Cameron Park, CA; and sister Claudia Allen and her husband Paul, of Albuquerque, NM.  He was preceded in death by his father, Elton Harrelson.

Rick was born September 20, 1951, in Austin, TX.  After numerous moves throughout Texas, the family located to Albuquerque in 1964, where Rick lived ever since.  He graduated from Sandia High School in 1969 where he set records as a football player.  He graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1973 with a bachelor degree in Business Administration and was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity.  After college, Rick worked as a financial advisor until he retired.

Rick will be remembered for his wittiness, intelligence, and love of family and friends.  He enjoyed fantasy football, crosswords, fishing, golf, ice cream sandwiches, and twinkies.  

A service will be held on Monday, May 22, 2017, 11:00am, at the Daniels Family Funeral Services, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE. 87109.
