Richard L. (Dick) Hofland

After a courageous battle and with his family by his side, beloved husband, and father Dick Hofland (81) passed away from our lives on April 20, 2017. Dick loved betting on the horses, golf, playing gin and spending time with family and friends.  Dick was born in St Ansgar, Iowa on March 18, 1936. He was raised in Austin, MN where he graduated from Austin High School.  He met and married Patty Gilpin.  They moved to Albuquerque in 1961 where they raised their family.  Dick loved his career as a custom home builder for over 50 years until he retired at the age of 79.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Pat; daughters: Kim Nichols, husband Randy; Julie Stein, husband Rick; nephew: Kurt Thorson and family; brother in law: Harold Thorson.  

A tribute and celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 11 at 3:00pm at the Canyon Club in Four Hills, 911 4 Hills Rd SE, Albuquerque, NM 87123
