Richard Donald Ogden

Richard Ogden, 76, went home to be with his Lord and Savior early Saturday morning, March 9, 2024 surrounded by family.   He loved the Lord and was saved at a young age. He was originally from Rhinebeck, New York, and moved to Rio Rancho in August of 1982.  Much of his life was spent being a foster parent of children with disabilities.  During this time, he adopted seven children, while caring for many, many others.

Richard found great pleasure in spending time with his children and grandchildren, attending their sporting events in addition to family gatherings, and vacations and had a green thumb when it came to gardening.  Richard also enjoyed Major League sports, especially the NY Yankees.  His favorite pastime was meeting other people and would become quick friends. He enjoyed sharing his life experiences and was always willing to help and support others in similar situations.  He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.  

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Madeline and Lawrence Ogden, his brothers Robert and Bernard, his daughter Patricia and sons Micahl and Joshua.  He is survived by his wife Anne, brother Larry Jr, his son Ronald and wife Danielle, daughter Heather, son Richard Jr, daughter Rebekah and husband Joshua, daughter Jasmine, son David, daughter Christashia, son Chance, daughter Evangelina, daughter Marianne, and son Ernest.  He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
