PEDERSON - Richard (*Dick") Pederson, a life long resident of Albuquerque, passed away on August 30, 2009. He was born to Clarence E. Pederson and Mary Katherine Suffolk Pederson on March 1, 1930. He graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1947 and attended the University of Colorado and the University of New Mexico. He enlisted in the Army during the Korean conflict, attended OCS and was commissioned in Ordnance Corps in 1952. He owned and managed Pete's Safety Lane until retirement in 1983. As a young man Dick enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was active in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, serving as exalted ruler in 1967-1968. He was the current chairman of the 1947 Albuquerque High School Reunion Committee and a member of American Legion Post 49. He also was a member of the Chaparral Motor Home Club and enjoyed traveling throughout the country. He is survived by his wife of fifth-eight years, Sue Mullings Pederson; one daughter Lea O'Hanlan and husband Edward (Ted) O'Hanlan, one grandson Edward (Teddy) O'Hanlan, one niece, two nephews and many cousins.
