Richard M. Salce

Salce, Richard Michael Died Friday October 26, 2012. Richard was born September 23, 1934 in Corrales, NM to Cathleen and Virgilio Salce. A lifelong New Mexican and devoted family man, he served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War. A standout high school athlete excelling on the basketball court, he carried his love for sports throughout his life. Nothing gave him more joy than cheering on his grandchildren in their various activities. Richard is survived by daughter Shawn Steele, grandsons Chance and Parker Steele, son-in-law Jeff Ash, granddaughters Maggie and Sarah Ash, and sister Vivian Salce-Bonner. Richard was preceded in death by wife Maggie Salce, daughter Shannon Ash, and Sister Bertha Astorga. He made friends everywhere he went and will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, October 29, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Desert Springs Church, 705 Osuna Rd.
