Richard "Dick" Waugh

October 24, 1940 — January 25, 2025

Albuquerque

Richard, “Dick” Waugh, 84, peacefully passed away January 25th at his home in Albuquerque NM after a brief illness. Born in Sugar City Colorado on October 24th 1940, Dick was preceded in death by his father Edwin Waugh, mother Donna Waugh, son Gerald Lucero, brother Eddie Waugh and sister Patty Waggoner and lastly his beloved dog Bubba.

 He is survived by his beautiful and loyal wife of 57 years Theresa Waugh, daughters Yvonne Swann (Bobby), Rene Waugh (Chris), Melinda Blair, Tammy Duran, Kenny Lucero (Charles), and Mike Waugh. He is also survived by sisters Cindy Campbell (Scott), Diana Adams (Dale) and brother Ricky Waugh (Della). He leaves behind his beloved Chocolate Lab Bentley. Dick also had 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. 

 Dick retired from the transportation and logistics industry where he managed operational activities thru out the Southwest. Dick was an avid musician lover, proficient in playing the saxophone and trumpet. He loved spending time with his family, grilling on weekends, creating unique BBQ recipes and watching his beloved Denver Broncos whether they won or lost. His skillset ability to fix anything was astonishing to anyone who knew him. He loved anything analytical especially when it came to computers and technology. Dick would help solve any problems that family and friends had when it came to computers or technical issues. He was the “Go to Guy”.

 He was a longtime member of St. Stephens church and was active at being an usher every Sunday for decades. A church service will be held on February 1st at 1:00 PM at St. Stephens United Methodist Church for family, friends and community church members.

 The family would like to also thank New Mexico Hospice for their empathy, compassion and support during this difficult time. Their entire staff was there thru out the entire time and went above and beyond to care for Dick.
