Richard "Mike" Wingo

It’s with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Richard Michael Wingo on July 30,2024.

Richard or as most may know him as “Mike” was born December 23, 1955, in Las Vegas, New Mexico. In 1964 he moved to Independence, Missouri with his family, where he graduated from Truman High School in 1974. Mike was a Journeyman Electrician for 30 years in New Mexico, where he lived out his life, riding motorcycles, raising his daughter and rescuing a few cats and dogs along the way. Mikes love, patience, and acceptance has been felt by many beating hearts and to know him is an unmatched treasure.

 Mike is survived by his mother June King, his daughter Crystal Wingo, sister Karen Smith, and granddaughter Avery E. plus several stepbrothers and sisters. He was preceded in passing by his father Richard Coke Wingo and stepbrother Tony Mackay.

 Mike will be remembered for his unique and genuine, rough around the edge’s soul and will be truly missed every day.

 A celebration of his life will be planned at a later date.
