Rick Owen White

Rick O. White a retired Senior Vice President at BBVA Compass Bank and a life long resident of Albuquerque, NM died unexpectedly on September 16, 2019 at the age of 61 at home.

Rick is survived by his mother, Sally Claire White, his wife, Julie Ann Reinhart White, his two daughters Jordan Lindsay Williams and husband Ryan, and Whitney Inez Leger and husband Jon-Claude; his brother, Walter Butch White and wife, Sheri; his sister, Teddi Inez Stella, his nephew Walter Lyle White and wife Brittany, his two nieces, Tsenré Marie Vigil and husband James, and Carlyn Marion Stella and his granddaughter, Lennyn Claire Williams and many more family and friends. He is predeceased by his father Walter E. White. Jr. Rick was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend to everyone.

Rick was born on February 20, 1958 in Albuquerque, NM. He graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1981 with Bachelor of Business Administration—Finance, and worked at many banks including: United New Mexico Bank, First Interstate Bank, Norwest Bank, Wells Fargo Bank, and finally BBVA Compass Bank. He was a well-respected professional in the financial community.

On June 4, 1983 he married Julie, his bride of 36 years. On December 8, 1988 he became a father to Jordan, on April 1, 1991 a second daughter Whitney was born and finally, he became Gampaw to Lennyn on October 29, 2018. Rick was the most supportive, loving, caring and fun father. It wasn’t unusual to find him at home with his daughters playing his silly made up games like tea parties, gator golf and card games which they loved.

Rick was an avid snow and water skier, golfer, bicyclist, hiker, fisherman, hunter, walker, car and boat waxer, vacuumer, budgeter, nicknamer, lawn mowerer and the most humble, generous giver. He was a spiritual leader and God loving man. Rick was actively involved at Christ the King Church. He was a Lay Eucharistic Minister, past member of the Vestry serving as Senior Warden, Chairman of Mission and Outreach Committee and a Discipleship Leader. He also was a leader in Bible Study Fellowship which involved 6AM Friday morning meetings and 5:30PM Monday night teachings.

He made a positive, loving impact on everyone he encountered and never hesitated to help people and share the word of Christ. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, neighborhood and all who knew him. His soul has entered the gates of Heaven and he is at peace with the Lord.
