Rita B. Davidson

DAVIDSON- Rita B. Davidson, age 82 died peacefully in Rio Rancho, NM on Tuesday, April 26, 2011. She was born January 28, 1929 in Kronstadt, (Siebenburgen/Transylvania) Romania, to her parents, Johann and Berta Gorgias. Rita spent her early life in Transylvania before fleeing to Austria in World War II. Later in 1952 she immigrated to the United States and married Major Ralph Davidson. They were married for over 36 years. She retired from the AMREP Corporation. She enjoyed her grandchildren, crossword puzzles, Jeopardy game show, reading and studying history. She is survived by daughter, Evelyn Zurow and husband Don of Bradenton, FL; son, Ralph S. Davidson, Jr. and wife Stacy of Corrales, NM; daughter, Lori Alex and her 2 children Johnnie and Jennifer of Rio Rancho, NM; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother Jurgen Gorgias and wife Mary Kay of Columbus, OH. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph S. Davidson; parents, Johann and Berta Gorgias. Viewing and visitation will be held at 9:30 am with Funeral Services following at 10:30 am, Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Sara Rd. Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE and Meadowlark Lane, Rio Rancho, NM. Interment will be at 1:30 pm at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM.
