Robert O. "Bob" Ricketts, 87, of Farmington, passed away Monday, January 24, in Farmington. He was born April 23, 1923, in Farmington, to Orval and Bertha Ricketts.
Bob graduated with the Farmington High School Class of 1940, and earned a degree in agronomy from New Mexico State University in 1948.
He served in World War II with the U.S. Army, fighting in Europe with the famed 42nd "Rainbow" Infantry Division.
He worked for the Soil Conservation Service and then owned and operated Husler Press, Inc., with his wife, Erma.
Bob served his country, his community and his church with distinction, and he loved his family deeply. Our hearts will be lonely without him. We will miss his wit and humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Jack Ricketts.
He is survived by Erma, his wife of 63 years; sons, Bobby, and Sam; daughters, Betty and Sally; sister, Lillie; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous family members and lifelong friends.
