Robert J. Gore

Gore, Robert J. Age 91, passed away Friday, August 29, 2014. He was born February 1, 1923 in Belen, NM to Earl J. and Cleo (Steck) Gore. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Earl G. Gore, Marion A. Gore; sister, Phyllis I. Gledhill; his first wife, Bonnie J. Gore. He is survived by his wife, Higinia Gore; children, Robert A. Gore and wife Martha; brother, Bill Gore; grandchildren, Bonnie Gore, Brooks Gore; niece, Beth Christianson; nephews, Jim Gore, Rodney Gore; stepchildren, Alfred Cata and wife Marlowe, Samuel E. Cata and wife Debbie, Estelle Read and husband Stan; grandchildren, Samuel D. Cata, Jennifer Haley, Sarah Crichlow, Victor Cata, Megan Fricks, Gabriel Cata. He worked for AT&SF Railway until August 1942 when he joined the U.S. Navy and served on board the U.S.S. Wainwright during WWII. Afterwards he worked for the Atomic Energy Commission, retiring from the Department of Energy in 1978. He was very much loved and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. A visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon with the Mass of Christian Burial following at 12:00 pm, Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Hills Boulevard NW, Albuquerque, NM. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Boulevard NE, Albuquerque, NM. Pallbearers will be Brooks Gore, Samuel D. Cata, Victor Cata, Gabriel Cata, Troy Haley, Rey Crichow, and Brandon Fricks. A reception to celebrate Robert's extraordinary life will be held at 3:30 pm later that afternoon at El Pinto Restaurant, 10500 4th Street NW, Albuquerque, NM.
