Robert C. Holmes

HOLMES- Robert C. Holmes, 87, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM for the past 23 years, passed away May 10, 2011. He was born in Fond du Lac, WI. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Betty; two sons, Steve and Mark of California. He is also survived by Betty’s children, Judith Schnell of Albuquerque, Christina and Sarah of Phoenix, AZ, Merry of Bellingham, WA, James of Odessa, TX and Martin of Dillon, MT. He was preceded in death by a twin sister and five brothers. Bob was a WWII veteran, U.S. Army, European Theater and we consider him one of the “Greatest Generation” He retired from Eastern Washington University in Cheney, WA. He was a member of the Rio Rancho Kiwanis Club and the American Legion. He enjoyed hockey and baseball and having lively discussions about sports. He attended Calvary Chapel and loved the Lord. A brief service, with military honors will be held at 2:15pm, Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM.
