Robert Neil Johnston

Johnston, R. Neil Age 99, passed away peacefully March 5 at his home in Albuquerque, NM. Neil is survived by his son Robert Neil Johnston, Jr. and his daughter Mildred Marie McMullen both of Albuquerque, and brother Edwin Johnston of Oroville, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife Marie C. Johnston, parents Josie Lee and Arthur Johnston, and brother Raymond L. Johnston. Neil was born in Cleveland, TN and a resident of Athens, TN before moving to Albuquerque because of his father�s health. He had a varied work history including lapidarian before WWII, an artillery gunner in Europe while in the army during WWII, and manager for 20 years at Fitzgerald�s Ice Cream after the war. Prior to retiring Neil followed his passion for collecting and selling Indian artifacts and jewelry. During his 80 years in Albuquerque Neil was a member of Fellowship Bible Church and Highland Baptist Church. Internment of ashes will be at the Vista Verde Memorial Park Rose Garden.
