Robert Duff Jones

JONES-Robert Duff Jones, 63, a long time resident of Tularosa and Alamogordo, NM. passed away on March 2, 2010. Mr. Jones was born on June 24, 1946 in Texas. He entered the US Air Force on August 19, 1966 in Pasadena, TX. Mr. Jones served in the Air Force for 20 years and earned numerous medals and awards: the Air Medal (four times), the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Air Force Achievement Medal, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal (five times), the Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with Four Oak Leaf Clusters, the National Defense Service Medal, the Air Force Overseas Service Short Tour Ribbon, the Vietnam Service Medal with One Silver and One Bronze Star, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award Ribbon, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Device, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. During his military career he served in the Mobility Support Squadron and in the 49th Tactical Fighter Wing. His job duties included Logistics Plans Technician, Air Craft Maintenance Technician for one and two engine and turbo-prop air craft. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his mother, Clara L. Jones, who died on October 7, 1983, and his father, Roy Robert Jones, who died on August 21, 1997.
