LaMay, Robert Thomas
Age 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at his home south of San Antonio, NM. He was born in Carrizozo, NM on July 21, 1922, to Leroy and Mamie (Ferguson) LaMay. He was the youngest of nine brothers and sisters. He served his country in the US Army during WWII and was the recipient of a bronze star for valor. Robert worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Lincoln Co. road dept. for many years before retiring. Robert enjoyed fishing and was an inventor extraordinare. Nobody could "bailing wire" things like he could. He was a devoted family man. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Jan Cox; grandson, David LaMay; and his eight brothers and sisters. Robert is survived by his loving wife of seventy years, Anna Mae (Stearns) LaMay; children, Thomas William 'Billy' LaMay and wife, Elaine, Robert E. LaMay and wife, Sherry, and Edith Dobbins and husband, Grover; son-in-law, Stan Cox; grandchildren, Lance, Heath, Shane, Mitzi, Everett, Tommy and Stacy; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
