Lenberg, Robert Albin
Age 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 19, 2015. Robert was born in Foley, Minnesota on February 9, 1928, and served honorably in the Army Air Force from 1946 to 1949. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. At the age of 22, Robert served for thirty-four months as a church missionary in Norway, a time he cherished all his life. After returning home, Robert completed his Bachelor’s degree at Brigham Young University where he met his wife, Hazel Ivy Erum, and they were married on September 18, 1953. Robert pursued his graduate studies at the University of Minnesota, where he received his PhD degree in 1961. He became an Associate Professor at the University of Washington in 1962, leaving in 1965 to become a Vice-President of Simpson Lee Paper Company in Michigan. In 1969, Robert relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to become a Professor in the University of New Mexico Anderson School of Management where he worked until retiring in 1990. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Albin I. Lenberg and Winnie L. Aubrey, his sister Geraldine Lorraine Lenberg, and his beloved wife, Hazel, who passed away in 2011. Robert is survived by his brothers, Douglas D. Lenberg Sr., Albin I. Lenberg, Jr., and Charles P. Lenberg; his daughters Angela L. Gamiz and Cecilia A. Colombel; sons Robert A. Lenberg, II, Garth M. Lenberg, Scott E. Lenberg, and Edward P. Lenberg; their spouses and a posterity of twenty-four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 4109 Eubank Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111, with a viewing at 10:00 AM and funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM.
