With deep sorrow and endless love, we announce the passing of our beloved Robert Anthony Magana, fondly known as Robbie. Robbie entered our lives on July 10, 2002, bringing with him a beautiful spirit and a fierce resilience. Diagnosed with Prader-Willi Syndrome at birth, Robbie became a true teacher of love, sacrifice, and perseverance. He showed us how to enjoy life’s smallest joys, and through him, we learned the importance of embracing every single moment.
Robbie had a heart full of curiosity and an unshakable kindness. He was a friend to everyone he met, sharing warm hugs and a welcoming smile. Robbie found joy in the simple pleasures of life: he loved playing basketball, exploring nature, walking along trails, and especially visiting waterfalls. His love for swimming took him to both the family pool and the lake, where he could fully immerse himself in the moment. He always enjoyed playing his videogames with his favorite characters in them including Lara Croft, Wolverine, and many Lego video games of his favorite superheroes and movies.
A competitive spirit burned within Robbie, and he took pride in giving his all to everything he did. Whether it was a game or a personal goal, he loved to win—and he brought us all along for the ride, cheering us on with his boundless enthusiasm and determination. Robbie’s love of animals was as big as his heart; he was especially drawn to lions, tigers, and bears, but his real love was for his cherished pets, Missy and Bandit the rabbits, and Bella and Logan his protective and beautiful dogs. We take comfort knowing they are now by his side in heaven.
Robbie’s determination was as steadfast as his heart was big. Once he set his mind on something, nothing could change it. He encouraged us to push beyond our limits, always checking in to make sure we were okay. He was honest and sincere, reminding us of the value of authenticity and compassion.
Our Robbie has left a profound mark on our lives, and his memory will continue to inspire us. Though we say goodbye for now, we will forever carry his love, his strength, and his unwavering belief in the impossible in our hearts. Robbie demonstrated unwavering love for us, and in turn, was deeply cherished by his family and all the lives he touched; the way he loved us mirrored the boundless affection we had for him, as well as the love of countless others in the many lives he touched with his short time on this earth with us.
