Robert McBeth

February 3, 1932 — March 1, 2020

Robert McBeth was born on February 3, 1932 in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma to Ezell And Ida Mae McBeth. He was the tenth of fourteen children.

After graduating from High School in 1950, he joined the US Airforce serving during the Korean War, and later was stationed at the Kirtland Airforce Base.  After leaving the military he worked for the telephone company which was then called Mountain Bell and retired after 35 years.  While working he obtained his Associates Degree in Electronics Technology being among the first graduating class at TVI now known as CNM in 1965.  After retiring he started his own business doing what he loved, which was refurbishing furniture.

He Married Dollie Mae Bryant-McBeth in 1954, and from that union two children, Robert Michael McBeth and Rita Michelle McBeth-Burrell. He later married Lenora Watts-McBeth in 1993.  He was a member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church for a total of 47 years.  He was a dedicated member of the Laymen, Male Chorus, Superintendent of Sunday School as well as a teacher. He served as Deacon Chairman, and Trustee Chairman of Shiloh. He helped supervise the building of this church and maintained it for many years.  He was very active in the New Hope District, Mt. Olive State Convention and National Baptist Laymen Movement. He taught class for the NHDA yearly. He was also a Member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ezell and Ida Mae McBeth, wives, Dollie Mae McBeth and Lenora McBeth, siblings Tracy McBeth, Mabel Woods, Willie McBeth, Bernice Woods, Ola Mae Smith, Joseph McBeth, Robin McBeth, Volley Ray McBeth, Ollia Faye Edmonson, Gladys Gabriel, Roscoe McBeth,  and Betty Jean Ingram.  He leaves to cherish his memory, his baby sister Betty Joann French, two children Robert M. McBeth and Rita Burrell. His four grandchildren Anthony Burrell, Drew Burrell, Shantil Burrell and Robert M. McBeth Jr. His six great-grandchildren Aaron, Quentin Jr., Elijah, Amiyah, LaNiyah Burrell and Marcel McBeth. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
