Robert J. "Bob" McBroom

Robert John "Bob" McBroom, passed away peacefully in his home on August 19, 2017.  Bob was born March 26, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio, to John and Mildred McBroom.  Bob attended Tri-State College and Ohio Northern University before joining the Air Force, stationed at Eglin AFB in Florida.  After his service, Bob became an Optical Engineer, conducting laser research for the University of Dayton Research Institute and Boeing.  He has lived in Albuquerque since 1973.

He is survived by his loving family: beloved wife Jeanie; son, John McBroom (Jackie) of Albuquerque; daughter, Elaina Ballew (Chuck) of Burbank, CA; step-son, Corbin Spiers (Melissa); step-daughter Heather Spiers and five grandchildren, all of Albuquerque; sisters Dolores Williamson (Roger) of Napoleon, OH; Gerry McBroom (L.A. Bannowsky) of Maui, HI and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.  In addition to his family, Bob leaves a legacy of good friends.

Bob and Jeanie shared 34 wonderful years together, traveling, golfing and motor home camping.  Bob also enjoyed watching football, especially Ohio State University. He lived every moment to the fullest.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Daniels Family Funeral Services Wyoming Chapel, with a reception to follow. Burial will be later at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
