Roberta J Lauer

Lauer, Roberta Age 86, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM since April 1992, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2013 with her family by her side. She was born on September 16, 1927 to Lester V. and Anne G. (Mullis) Shirey of Lincoln, NE. She was a personnel secretary for Monmouth College in Monmouth, IL. Roberta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who saw the good in everyone. She was an active member in Faith Evangelical Free Church of Rio Rancho, and a member of the Red Hat Roadrunners. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters: Virginia Hildebrand, Barbara Colmer and Nancy Shirey. She is survived by her husband of over 64 years, Walt Lauer; daughter, Beverly Barton and her husband, Jeffery L., of Elk Grove Village, IL; and her "favorite" grandson, David Steven Barton, also of Elk Grove Village, IL; brothers-in-law, Joe Colmer, Harvey Lauer, and Dean Buckingham; sisters-in-law, Sharon Lauer, "Cis" Lauer, and Mary Lauer; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Faith Evangelical Free Church of Rio Rancho, 900 Southern Blvd SE, Rio Rancho, NM, with Pastor Mike McDonald, officiating.
