Roger F. Marshall

October 17, 1933 — October 3, 2012

Marshall, Roger F. 78, passed away October 3 after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Heidi, his daughter Rachel Elena, his sister Constance Cornett and husband Frederick, nieces and nephews Deborah, Jennifer, David and wife Ana, Peter and wife Dawn here in the United States. In Chile, South America, his brothers-in-law Arturo, Harry and Benjamin, sisters-in-law Olga, Lupe, and Myriam and nieces and nephews Marlene, Edgar, Marcelo, Roger, Melina, Andrea, Fernando, Patricia, Monica, Roberto Andres, and Juan Carlos. Many people here and in other countries will remember his generosity in sharing his love and knowledge of photography. As Rev. Theodore M Hesburgh, President Emeritus of the University of Notre Dame wrote, "Roger was one of our key leaders in the Peace Corp when it began-and he will remain as one of the pioneers in this great movement. Roger chronicled the early life of the Peace Corps here at Notre Dame, the trip to Chile, and of course during their two years of service down there. We are all very grateful to him and love him dearly. A memorial service will be held in Malibu, California. You are greatly missed and loved by your wife, daughter, family and friends. Happy Birthday.
