Rogerio Martinez

Martinez, Rogerio Age 90, our loving father, grandfather, brother and friend went to be with our Lord and Savior on August 5, 2013, at his home in Santa Fe, NM. He was born June 5, 1923 in Llano Largo, NM to Elias and Aurora Martinez. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elias and Aurora Martinez; wife, Priscilla Martinez; sons, Robert Martinez and David Martinez. Rogerio is survived by his beloved children, Roger Martinez and wife Oralia, Kris Martinez and husband Harold (deceased), Jane Martinez and husband Cruz, Laura Gutierrez and husband Ernie, Amy Valerie Martinez and husband Hector; much loved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended families, Brenda (Mike) Gonzales (Brianna and Miguel), Geraldine (Tommy) Montoya (Melody and Selena), Elias Martinez (Joaquin, EJ, and Kendra), Albert (Dejon) Martinez, Aiesha Martinez, Mario Martinez, Irene Cisneros (Taye and Jalen), Patrick (Felicia) Cisneros (Audrey and Isaiah), Desiree Martinez, Melissa (Chris) Maxwell (Ethan, Makayla, Amelia), Faithe Gutierrez, Kevin (Joslyn and Anthony), Nydia Martinez and Emilo Martinez; brothers, Oviado Martinez and wife Ruby, Lee Martinez and wife Stella (deceased); sisters, Emma Fresquez and husband Gilbert (deceased), Ida Valdez. Our father loved to go fishing, horseback riding, and tending mom's gardens. His favorite past time was writing short stories and a novel; which will be published shortly. Our father was proud to have served his country. He was a World War II Army veteran which took him to many places around the world. The family would like to express their appreciation for the care our father received from The Hospice Center (Presbyterian Medical Services). Many of their staff provided support and especially Bea Zollo and Rosie Lozano. We are so thankful for Faithe, his granddaughter, who helped our sister, Kris with all his care. A Mass will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at San Antonio-Padua Catholic Church, 14079 New Mexico Highway 75, Penasco, NM. Interment will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 North Guadalupe Street, Santa Fe, NM 87501.
