Ronald Lee Barker

December 18, 1944 - July 19, 2019

Ronald Barker went to be with the Lord on July 19, 2019 at his home in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.  Ron was born in Carlsbad, New Mexico on December 18, 1944.  He attended Dell City High School, Dell City, Texas and University of Texas at El Paso.  He served in the Army from 1967 to 1969, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Sharpshooter Rifle Medal.  Ron was in Industrial Maintenance and started Omni Services Welding & Fabrication. He is a member of the Gospel Light Baptist Church in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. He loved fishing, hunting, computing and wood-working. Ron is survived by his wife, Susan of 44 years, his children: David Wagner (Diana), James Wagner (Jennifer), Darrell McDonough, Cheryl Carroll, and Laurel Marinell. Grandchildren: Christina Lockridge (Dominic), Britany Reed (Chad), Jessica Wagner, Kimberly Wagner and Jacob Wagner. Great Grandson: Jeffrey Lockridge. One sister, Sherry Yeager (Ken). Brother-in-law, Rick Millhofer. Nieces/Nephews: Shane Barker, Eric Yeager (Lori). Great nieces/nephews: Laken Barker, Blayke Yeager, Brooke Yeager, and Bradyn Yeager. Numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins and his loving pets Lulu and B.  Ron is preceeded in death by his parents Lendol and Nadine Barker, son Robert, Sister Wynona Barker, and nephews Jeramie Barker and Mark Yeager.

Memorial Services for Ronald Barker will be Monday, July 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Gospel Light Baptist Church, 1500 Southern Blvd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124. Cremation will take place and burial will be at a later date in Zapapta, Texas. In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to:  Watermelon Mountain Ranch Animal Rescue Center, 1512 Deborah Rd. SE, Ste 203, Rio Rancho, NM 87124
