In 1964 he graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Forest Management.
Ron’s entire career was dedicated to the USDA Forest Service. His career journey took him to various locations within New Mexico and Arizona. Along the way he made lifelong relationships with many of his colleagues.
They had two children; Ronnie and Lynda. As a family they lived in rural areas and enjoyed outdoor family activities such as picking wild berries, fishing, target shooting, chopping wood, and hunting for the perfect Christmas tree in the forest.
His hobbies and interests included pheasant hunting with his brothers, golfing, cheering on the Nebraska Cornhuskers, attending gun shows, singing and serving in his local church, and supporting his family and friends.
