Rosalia Myers Feinstein

FEINSTEIN- Rosalia Myers Feinstein, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister and friend, died on Sunday, August 30 in Albuquerque. Rosalia was born on October 7, 1940 in Bolton, England where she lived with her parents and three younger sisters until she was eight, when the family moved to Sydney, Australia. In 1958, the Myers family immigrated to Albuquerque where Rosalia studied at University of New Mexico, earning a B.A. and M.A. in French. In 1960, Rosalia married Stanley Feinstein at Albuquerque's Congregation Albert. The couple had two children and Rosalia worked as a teacher and social worker. In 1969, Rosalia and her family moved to Maryland, where she earned a second Masters Degree in Policy Science, served as volunteer lobbyist for the League of Women Voters and was employed as the Legislative Coordinator for Howard County, Maryland for 15 years. In 1994, Rosalia and Stanley returned to their beloved New Mexico to retire. Over t he past 15 years, Rosalia volunteered for numerous organizations, including Congregation Albert Sisterhood, the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, and the American Association of University Women. An avid hand and machine knitter, Rosalia participated in several sewing and knitting groups. Rosalia also participated in book groups and wrote articles and essays, one of which was published in the 2000 book Knit Lit. Rosalia is survived by her husband of 49 years, Stanley Feinstein, her daughters Naomi Sandweiss (husband, Daniel) of Albuquerque, daughter Debra Ross (husband, Steve) of Naperville, IL, her mother, Sarah Myers of Cleveland, OH, her grandchildren, Molly and Ethan Sandweiss and Abby Ross, and her sisters, Stephanie Schur , Bernice Dinner, and Heather Bossin and their families. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Roadrunner Food Bank (247-2052).
