VALDEZ, Rosenaldo, 87, of Rio Rancho, NM, with his son and daughter-in-law by his side, went home to be with the Lord on 4/8/25. Rosenaldo “Ross” was born on April 10, 1937 in La Jara, NM. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle and will be missed by his family and friends. Although he has gone to be with our Lord, we will always love him very much. Ross belonged to the Knights of Columbus for 25 years and was a 4th Degree knight. He was a taper for 42 years; he worked for the NM State Highway Department for the District of Cuba; and he was a volunteer firefighter for Cuba. He always worked hard to provide for his family. He was married to his loving wife for 52 years and of those 25 years, he took care of her while battling health issues. Ross also loved to play the guitar, sing in the church choir, fiestas, and even some weddings. He loved traveling with his wife in their RV to different states to visit family and friends. He also loved his sweets and coffee. No matter what meal it was he had to have something sweet to finish off the meal.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Percilla Valdez, grandson Luciano Valdez Jr., granddaughter Madalena Valdez, his parents Alejandro and Dorotea Valdez, brother Bernardo Valdez (Cordy); sisters Lilly Suazo (Pat), Marcelina Ortega (Manuel), Margie Esquibel (Joe), Mabel Martinez (Gus), and Faye Baldonado; brothers-in-laws Seferino Montoya (Connie), Bences Montoya (Bernice), and Florence Montoya; sisters-in-laws Rufina Lovato (Ubaldo), and Gavina Sanchez (Vidal). He is survived by his son Luciano Valdez (Patricia) of Rio Rancho, NM; daughter Josie Fisher; six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Joe Baldonado; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Luciano and Patricia would like to thank the staff at The Suites Rio Vista especially Sheryl, Patricia, Luis, Chantal, Jocelyn, Erica, Martin, and Tara for taking such wonderful care of Dad.
