Roy's story is one of unwavering commitment and profound impact. After graduating from Douglas High School in Douglas, Arizona in 1968, he pursued higher education at Cochise Jr. College before ultimately earning his Bachelor's degree from Arizona State University in Tempe in 1972. Following his academic achievements, Roy embarked on a remarkable career path that began with 24 years of distinguished service as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force. His deployment to Vietnam and the Persian Gulf exemplified his courage and selflessness in defense of his country.

Upon concluding his military tenure, Roy transitioned to a role at American Airlines where he dedicated an impressive 29 years of his life. His work ethic and professionalism left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.

Roy was a beloved husband to Sandra L. Johnson, a devoted father to Shea Nicole Johnson and Raiman Johnson, and a cherished step-father to Louis Stuart Taylor.
