KOCH- Roy James Koch, age 77, died at his home on Saturday, December 6, 2008. He was a resident of Rio Rancho for 22 years. Roy was born in Buffalo, NY on November 24, 1931, the son of Lawrence John and Helen Sophia Koch. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was a member at Church of the Incarnation and the Elks Lodge, both in Rio Rancho. Roy retired from the Ashland Oil Refinery in Buffalo, NY. His interests included gardening, "puttering" in the yard, working on his cars, and listening to Big Band and Jazz music. He was something of a perfectionist and he repaired everything himself. He was very particular about anything he did whether it was around the yard and garden or with his cars. He was a life-long Buffalo Bills football fan, as well. He is remembered by his family and friends as being a wonderful man and is already deeply missed. Roy is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ida Jean (Mulla) Koch; their children, Gregory L. Koch and wife Rosemary of Rio Rancho, Kathleen Norwalk and husband John of Albuquerque, Ronald J. Koch and wife Benita of Sykesville, Maryland, and six grandchildren; Gregory Koch, II, Christopher M. Koch, Ian K. Norwalk, Colin D. Norwalk, Alison C. Koch and Benjamin P. Koch.
