Roy Leyba

Roy Leyba, age 88, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home, Monday, February 24, 2014. He was a lifelong resident of Pena Blanca, NM, where Roy was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Society of San Jose in Galisteo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rafael and Marianita S. Leyba; son, Michael Leyba; and siblings, Ramon, Gerald and Imelda Leyba. Roy is survived by his wife of 67 years, Flora Leyba; his children, Robert Leyba and wife Hilia, Carla Lucero and husband Peter, Ramona Leyba; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Rosalita Silva, Eloisa Leyba, Corine Moore, and Sarah Sanchez; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Roy will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose hearts he touched. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the family, friends, and especially to Donna Herrera for all their help during Roy's illness. A Rosary will be recited Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pena Blanca, NM, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at the Pena Blanca Community Cemetery.
