Ruben Gonzales

Ruben Gonzales, 47, went home to spend eternal life with Our Lord on May 12, 2024 while being surround by his family. He was born on March, 14, 1977 in Albuquerque, NM, grew up in Cuba, NM with many cousins and friends whom he loved and spent time exploring the outdoors especially with his best friend Julian Vigil. He attended high school in Los Lunas, NM where he competed and excelled in boxing, karate and kick boxing, winning many competitions. Ruben’s faith was important to him as he spent time reading his Bible cover to cover many times.

Ruben is preceded in death by his grandpa Arsenio Arellano, grandma Eva Gutierrez, cousins William Arellano, Vera Rios and Nadine Arellano. Ruben is survived by his mom Arabella Gonzales, father Rojelio Gonzales, sisters Debbie Velarde and Stephanie Chavez (Martin), his nephews and nieces Anthony Chavez (Miranda), Isaiah Chavez, Dominic Chavez, Alyssa Martinez and Madyson Martinez who were like his own children and they will greatly miss their Tio, he is also survived by his great-nephews and great-nieces Michael Salazar, Aubriella Chavez, Anthony Chavez Jr, and soon-to-be baby Chavez who he was proud of and also loved as his own and by many aunts, uncles, cousins, family, friends and his cat Sylvester whom he loved and they loved him.

Pallbearers to be Anthony Chavez, Isaiah Chavez, Dominic Chavez, James Aragon, Lonnie Arellano, Julian Vigil, Martin Soto, and Phillip Herrera. Honorary Pallbearer Theodore Arellano.

Funeral services will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Cuba, NM on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 10 am, with interment and reception to follow.
