Serna, Anastacio Ruben
Age 81, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 17, 2017. He was born in Quemado, NM on September 2, 1935, to Benjamin and Josefita Padilla Serna. After leaving school at an early age, Ruben enlisted with the US Air Force where he proudly served during the Korean War and was able to complete his education. After his honorable discharge from the military, Ruben returned to Quemado, NM and began employment with NM State Highway Department. He retired after 27 years of service. Ruben enjoyed fishing, camping and music. He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Dora Hill Serna; sons, Jerry Serna and Benjamin Serna; daughter, Sandra Serna; great grandson, Kendyn Neal Blaser; and brother, Ramon Serna.
Ruben is survived by his children, Sarah Serna, Clifford Serna, Marilyn Lyons and Pat Serna; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and brother, Matt Serna. Cremation has taken place and services will be scheduled for a later date.
