Ruth O. Backstrom

August 6, 1914 — March 25, 2009

Ruth O. Backstrom passed from this life into eternal life on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at the age of 94. She was born August 6, 1914 in Moorefield, West Virginia to Bernie and Rose Bierkamp. Ruth was proud to have served her country in the US Army during World War II. As a Staff Sergeant she met the love of her life Lieutenant Harold Backstrom, and they were married. Ruth is survived by her special friends and care-givers, Reedy and Joan Hall. Special thanks to the staff at Bee Hive Nursing Home for the gentle care given to Ruth.
