Ruth Canard

CANARD-Ruth Swamp Canard, 95, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, & friend passed to the spirit world on Dec. 27, 2010. She was born May 17, 1915, in Oneida, WI. She was a proud member of the Oneida Indian Nation of Wisconsin. Ruth spent most of her life in PHX, AZ & ABQ, NM. She was retired from the BIA, where she had a long and enjoyable career. Ruth passed peacefully surrounded by her family. She is survived by her children Linda (Allen) Doering, Patti Canard, Roger (Denise) Canard, her grandchildren Robert (Andrea) Canard, Jason Romero, Brantley (Tammy) Doering, & Tracy (LT) Goodluck, six great-grandchildren, and her caring companions Clara, Ruth & Evelyn. She was preceded in death by her mother Nellie Baird Swamp, her husband of 54 years Virgil "Buck" Canard, & her eldest son Robert L. Canard. A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011 at 1:30PM at St. Marks on the Mesa Episcopal Church (431 Richmond Pl. NE).
