Ruth M. Holfelder, 92, passed away on July 26th, 2015. She was born on April 12th, 1923 in East Orange, NJ. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, of 50 years, August A. Holfelder. She is survived by her children Barry M. Holfelder, Linda S. Rael (Melecio), Gail A. Bennett (Mark) and daughter-in-law Jan Holfelder. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Kristy A. Satterthwaite (Ck), Tracy A. Valenti (Nick), Nataniel D. Rael, Tiffany A. Bennett (Tommy), Razvan Rael (Alex), Marie Esther Rael, Tatyana I. Zamorano (Diego) and Brandy M. Holfelder as well as 9 great grandchildren: Zach, Kylia, Dominic, Eli, Audrey, Elena, Dimirtri, Levi and Colton. She will also be missed by her special friend Jackie Garcia.
Ruth lived in New Jersey for 54 years before relocating to New Mexico in 1977. She, her husband and children operated a gallery and gift shop in Taos, New Mexico for a number of years. Ruth was a resident of Taos, New Mexico until January of this year when she moved to Rio Rancho NM.
Ruth loved her family, nature, traveling the world, gardening, the arts, sewing and handcrafts. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
