Ruth Louise Johnson

Ruth Louise Johnson passed away on February 27, 2021. She was 88 and passed peacefully with her children at her side.

 Ruth was born in Ithaca, New York, on June 17, 1932, to Edward and Louis Shaw. She was the eldest of three children and attended Ithaca Grade School, and Dryden Middle/High School.  Ruth graduated in 1951.  On November 30, 1952, she married David L. Johnson and together they had four children. In 1962, motivated by the desire of warm and sunny weather, David and Ruth moved their young family to Albuquerque, NM. Ruth loved NM, its warm climate and sunshine from the moment she arrived. It is here that she made a warm and nurturing home for her husband and their four children. Providing a warm and loving home was Ruth's priority. She enjoyed gardening, family camping trips, traveling, bowling, group card games, and bird watching. After raising her family Ruth enjoyed her retirement years at The Greens Condominiums, where her life was enriched and made fullest by the group of special friends with whom she enjoyed so many different activities. Ruth is survived by her children: David of Edgewood, NM, Dale (Nigel) of Laguna Beach, CA., Jeffery (Isabel) of Laguna Hills, CA., and Shelly (Kevin) of Rio Rancho, NM., four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Due to Covid restrictions, a private family memorial will be held to honor and celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, her children have requested a donation in her name to a favorite charity.
