Ruth L. Maxwell

Ruth L. Maxwell, 94, formerly of Bluffton, IN, was laid to rest on May 25, 2019 in Albuquerque, NM.

She was born on January 16, 1925 in Lansing, MI to Ray and Irene Garrison. After graduating from Cedar Lake Academy in Cedar Lake, MI, she married Harold Jones of Liberty Center, IN. They were married 25 years when he passed away in 1969 leaving three daughters, two sons and two daughters by a previous marriage.

In 1989, she married Virgil Evans of Union City, IN, who died in 1990. Ruth married James Maxwell of Portland, IN in 1996. He passed away in 2005.

She worked at various places including Bluffton Animal Clinic and Markle Medical Center. Since 2007, Ruth resided in New Mexico near family.

She is survived by children, DiAnne (Jones) Wafford of Albuquerque, NM; Linda (Jones) Bricker of Bluffton, IN; Michael Jones of Naples, FL, Philip Jones of Moriarty, NM and Sue (Jones) Hinkle of Columbia, MD, 23 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 14 great, great grandchildren and two nieces, Barbara Garrison and Cindy Peach.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Homer Garrison, two stepdaughters- Dorothy (Jones) Stolte and Roberta (Jones) Dunford, three step grandsons, David Thompson, Dennis Thompson and Jordan Gilliam.

Ruth’s most enjoyable times in her later years was exercising at Silver Sneakers, eating out with some of the gang after exercising and texting on her iPhone. She was a member of the East Mountain Seventh-day Adventist Church in Edgewood, NM.

Surrounded by her family, Ruth fell asleep in the Lord with the hope of the resurrection. Friends and family may leave online condolences at www.danielsfamilyfuneral.com.
