Ruth Lee Sobel

Sobel, Ruth Lee age 85, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2013 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born July 3, 1928 to Joseph and Helen (Kneibert) Weinblatt in New York City. Ruth is survived by daughters, Marianne Reuter Smith, Suzanne Reuter, and Joanne Reuter and husband, Ross Becker; grandchildren, Seth Becker, Matthew J.W. Smith and wife, Sandra, Rebecca Smith Stern and husband, Jonathan; great-grandson, Benjamin Stern; and many dear nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Alan Weinblatt. Throughout her life, Ruth shared her love of art, music, opera, ballet, literature, archaeology and all things beautiful with her children and grandchildren. More than anything, she loved her daughters and grandchildren. Ruth loved to paint, sketch and wrote poetry. A self-described �city mouse,� she lived almost all her life in her beloved New York City where she retired as Director of Telecommunications from Lenox Hill Hospital. As a young mother, she was a winner in the Mrs. New York State beauty pageant. A private Memorial Service will be held.
