Sabina "Vina" Gurule

On Wednesday, June 3, 2020, Sabina Maria Gurule passed away peacefully completely surrounded by all of the people she loved the most. For those who have had the privilege of knowing Vina as many called her, know she was a loving mother, sister, friend, grandmother, and great grandmother. Sabina was born on March 10, 1936, in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, to parents Cyrillo Martinez and Mary F. Salazar. As she grew up, she moved from Pagosa Springs to Bernalillo, New Mexico where Vina spent the rest of her vibrant life. She was the head cook for the Bernalillo Schools for 23 years. Vina loved being outside and working in her yard. She was an amazing baker and cook, holidays will not be the same without her buns and biscochitios.      

Vina was preceded in death by her parents Cyrillo Martinez and Mary F. Salazar, brother Ben Martinez, daughter Victoria and son Anthony Gurule.

Sabina is survived by children Joe Larry (Martha) Valdez, Manual (Carmela) Valdez, Steve (Edna) Gurule, Matilda (Randy) Gonzales and Robert (Georgette) Gurule, her 9 grand children, her 9 great grand-children, sister Cyrilla Lucero, brother Gary (Cathy) Parker and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows on Wednesday June 10th  rosary will start at 11:00am and mass to follow.
