Sadie S. Baldonado

Sadie S. Baldonado, a devoted daughter, loving sister, beloved aunt, caring cousin and faithful friend, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2024. Born and raised in Algodones, New Mexico, Sadie was a cherished member of the Algodones/Bernalillo community, known for her dedication to family, devotion to her faith, passion for education and her love for the outdoors. 

Sadie spent her professional career teaching at Bernalillo Public Schools, where she inspired countless students with her passion for learning and her genuine love for children. Her colleagues and students will remember her as a compassionate and dedicated educator. 

After retiring, Sadie devoted herself to caring for her ailing parents until their passing, demonstrating her deep love and commitment to family. 

Outside of her professional life, Sadie found joy in tending to her garden and orchard. She had a deep appreciation for nature and spent many happy hours outdoors, nurturing her plants and enjoying the beauty of her surroundings. 

Sadie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Eduvigen and Anita De Herrera Baldonado, and her siblings: Ester Lerma and husband Anslemo, Julian Baldonado and wife June, Lillian Rivera and husband Richard, Marcial Baldonado and wife Priscilla, and Leroy Baldonado. She is survived by her siblings: Angelita Garcia (late husband Alex Garcia), Lorraine Segura, Jimmy Baldonado and wife Theresa, Gilbert Baldonado and wife Mary, and a special sister-in-law, Gloria Dominguez. 

Sadie leaves behind many nieces and nephews who she adored and several who she raised as her own. A special mention goes to her nieces, Lori Ann Dominguez and Debbie Archibeque, who were her special angels that took care of her until her dying day. 

A celebration of Sadie’s life will be held on October 10, 2024 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church located at 301 S Camino Del Pueblo in Bernalillo, NM beginning with a rosary at 10:00 a.m. and funeral mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park located at 4310 Sara Rd SE in Rio Rancho, NM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a local children’s charity of your choice, reflecting Sadie’s lifelong commitment to helping young people.
