Fernandez, Sally Celestina
Age 84, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in San Marcial, NM on August 14, 1932, to Luis and Luz (Alderete) Diaz. Sally was very devoted to the Catholic Church and was a member of the Legion of Mary Choir. She was a loving and caring mother and enjoyed caring for her daughter Josie. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Manuel Fernandez; her parents; brothers, Samuel Diaz and Fidel Diaz; and her sisters, Mary Trujillo, Amalia Chavez and Luisa Barreras. Sally is survived by her children, Mary Weathers (Mark Simon), Brenda Padilla (Felix), Alfred Fernandez (Lori), Jessie Staton (Terry) and Josephine Fernandez; grandchildren, Lisa Valenzuela (Johnny Sr.), Cherie Starnes, John Hudson, Lindsay Weathers, Juan Fernandez, Jr.(Joni), Dyvon Powell and Matraesa Ortega (Zach); great-grandchildren, Johnny Valenzuela, Jr., Haven  Valenzuela, Makenze Starnes, Preslee Starnes, Juan Fernandez III, Lexie Fernandez, Tannin Ortega, Tinleigh Ortega, and Ryggin McCauley; and her sisters, Marina Gallegos and Prescilla Torres. The Holy Rosary to be recited on Monday, January 9, 2017, at 7:00 pm at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real , Socorro. With The Mass of Resurrection to be on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 11:00 am at San Miguel Catholic Church. Celebrant Father Chike Ubah .  Burial will take place at San Miguel Cemetery following service. Pallbearers will be Juan Fernandez Jr., John Hudson, Johnny Valenzuela Sr., Zach Ortega, Mark  Simon, Terry Staton and Alfred Fernandez.  Honorary pallbearers are Juan Fernandez III, Johnny Valenzuela Jr., Tannin Ortega and Ryggin McCauley.
