It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Sally Padilla, a dedicated soul who graced this world with her presence for 86 years. Sally was born on July 15, 1937, in Guadalupita New Mexico, to parents Ismael Garcia and Julia Herrera. She peacefully transitioned from this world on May 7, 2024, in Bernalillo, New Mexico, surrounded by her loving and caring family.
Sally's life was a tapestry commitment and service. For 37 years, she unwaveringly served as the county clerk for Sandoval County, leaving an indelible mark on all those she encountered. Her dedication and passion for her work were evident to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Sally's true joys lay in the simple pleasures of life. She had an adventurous spirit and found solace in exploring different cultures through her travels. Her kitchen was a place of magic where she crafted delicious bakes and beautifully jarred fruits. However, nothing brought her more happiness than spending quality time with her cherished family.
Sally's memory will forever be held dear by those who survive her. She is survived by her children: son David Padilla; daughters Adella Archibeque (John), and Patricia Benavidez. Her legacy further lives on through her 10 beloved grandchildren and one great-grandson: granddaughters Amanda Garcia, Alyssa Smith (Mason), Janette Archibeque; grandsons Erin Benavidez, Jerome Padilla, Joshua Padilla (Amanda), Marcus Ward Michael Ward (Savanna Reidl).
In the embrace of eternity, Sally reunites with her beloved husband Andy Padilla, parents Ismael and Julia Garcia, as well as her sisters Gloria Garcia and Florida Padilla. Their spirits now intertwine in a realm of everlasting peace.
A Rosary will be recited on June 6, at 6:30 PM, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo, New Mexico. Mass of Christian Burial for Sally's life will take place at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church on June 7, at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery in Bernalillo, New Mexico.
