Sammy H. Lucero, age 47, a life-long resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016. Sammy was born April 5, 1969, one of six children of Raymond George Lucero, Sr and Ethel (Dominguez) Lucero. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond. Sammy is survived by his mother, Ethel; sisters and brothers: Doreen Jaramillo and husband Steve, Raymond Lucero, Jr. and wife Diana, Paul Lucero and partner Rolen Miller, Sandra Ramirez and husband Eddie, Casey Gonzales, and Sammy’s girlfriend Veronica Pacheco. He is also survived by (18) nephews and nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.  Sammy was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed horse racing, listening to music, and was an excellent bowler. Most of all, Sammy will be remembered as everyone’s favorite “Uncle Sam” who was loved by all who knew him. Services will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 1:00 p.m., Calvary Chapel-Rio Rancho located at 138 Frontage Road NE, Rio Rancho. Interment will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park located at 4310 Sara Road SE and Meadowlark Lane.  Immediately following interment, a reception will be held. Pallbearers will be Casey Gonzales, Richard Romero, Matthew Jaramillo, Antonio Gutierrez, Raymond Lucero III, and Pat Struck.
