Duncan, Samuel "Lee"
Age 85, passed away Friday, November 21, 2014 in Socorro, NM. He was born in Comanche, OK on May 25, 1929, to Samuel J. and Eula C. (Cleveland) Duncan. Lee grew up in Oklahoma and New Mexico. He ranched and raised Quarter horses in Texas and New Mexico. Lee moved to Quemado, NM in 1973 and bought a ranch. Along with his many years of ranching in Quemado he worked for the Catron County Road Dept. and owned a mechanics shop. One of Lee's loves was to target shoot and continued up into his early 80's. Lee was a jack of all trades and a master of most. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. Lee is survived by son, Jack Duncan and wife, Beverly, daughters, Debbie Watkins and husband, Ron and Jan Atwood and husband, Shane; grandchildren, Robert Watkins and wife, Krist-Anah, Chester Watkins, Rebecca Coppedge and husband, Shelton, Eddie Atwood and wife, Abby, Lacy Adair and husband, Dan, Lyndsey Garber and husband, Nelson, Jim Duncan, Julia Duncan, Terry Duncan, Lisa Duncan, and Sam Duncan; and several great grandchildren. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 10:00 am at the San Isidro Cemetery in lower frisco, Reserve, NM. A Celebration of Lee's life will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014, 11:00 am at the Presbyterian Church in Reserve. There will be a potluck lunch after the service.
