Rogers, Samuel Clay Age 84, died peacefully at his home in Albuquerque on Tuesday, November 6, 2012. Clay was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; and granddaughter, Shannon. Clay is survived by his wife, Marsha; son, Sam Rogers, wife, Bev and granddaughter, Lisa; daughter, Barbara Tune, and grandsons, Montgomery and Harrison; daughter, Tracy Holt, and husband Barry. Clay was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, and raised in Louisiana and Mississippi. Clay received his bachelor&s degree from Louisiana State University (LSU) and earned his master&s degree in electrical engineering at Purdue University at the age of 22. After a brief stint in the U. S. Army, Clay pursued a career supporting the defense industry. Clay started his career at Bell Labs, with assignments in New Jersey, New Mexico and Kwajalein Atoll, leaving Bell Labs to join the founding members of R & D Associates (RDA) in California. After RDA became a subsidiary of Logicon, Clay joined JAYCOR in California. Retiring from JAYCOR, Clay served as a consultant on various government projects, fully retiring in his mid-70&s.
