Sandra Lynn Scales

Scales, Sandra L. "Sandy" age 61, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014. She was born in Atlanta, GA on February 10, 1953, to Raymond and Maryann Thomas. Sandy attended Mainland High School in Daytona Beach, FL. then received a B.A. degree from the University of Florida , then a B.A. degree from Texas Western. She also was a S.P. 4 in the U.S. Army in Ft. Bliss.  Sandy did work at West Mesa High School teaching French.  She did enjoy quilting, traveling and being with family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her father and is survived by husband Jim Scales; her son John Beltran and his wife Yesenia, grandchild; Andalucia Beltran, mother Maryann, sisters; Melissa Tabboula and her husband Nick and Marci Pearson, stepsons Chris Scales and his wife Karen, David Scales, Steve Scales and his wife Shanelle and Staci Scales and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to the UNM Cancer Center's Dr. Muller, Didi Garcia and Sheri Westgate for their excellent care that Sandy received there. Also a special thanks to Gentiva Hospice for the kindess shown in the last month of Sandy's life. Visitation will be held Friday, January 2, 2015 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services Wyoming Chapel.  A service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 11:00am at St. John's United Methodist Church at 2626 Arizona St. NE Albuquerque, NM 87110 with a reception to follow from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. Interment to follow at 2:00pm Fairview Memorial Park at 700 Yale Blvd. SE Albuquerque, NM 87106.It was Sandy's wish that everyone dress in bright cheery colors. In lieu of flowers donations may be given in Sandy's honor to UNM Cancer Center Oncology cancer.unm.edu in her name.
