Sara Rodriguez

Sara Rodriguez 88, a resident of Rio Rancho, New Mexico since 1998 and formerly of Clayton, New Mexico devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday June 26th, 2021. She was born on June 18th, 1933, the daughter of Gabe and Lucy Lucero in Van Houten New Mexico. Her father worked in the coal mines, and she loved to call herself a true coal miner’s daughter.  It was in high school that she met her husband Ralph Sr. Sara and her husband Ralph had five kids together two daughters and three sons. Sara worked as a Dr Assistant, and a County Assessor among other jobs before retiring with the Public Service Company of New Mexico.  Sara loved to play cards with her friends and family and enjoyed painting her ceramics.  Sara’s greatest joy was being with her beloved family. She loved to cook for her family, especially making tamales for them every Christmas.  Sara was proceeded in death by her parents Gabe and Lucy, her sisters Leila, Pat and brother Alex, her beloved husband Ralph Sr., her daughters Barbara and Cynthia, granddaughter Sara, and great granddaughter Emilia. She leaves behind her three sons Phillip, Leonard, and Ralph Jr, 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren who will miss her dearly. 

A funeral service will take place on Friday, July 2nd at 11 am at Daniels Sara Chapel - 4310 Sara Road SE in Rio Rancho New Mexico.
