Scott Christopher Porter

PORTER_Scott Christopher Porter, 39, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2009. Scott was born December 9, 1969 the son of Charles Arthur and Marlene Vaughn Porter in Pueblo, Colorado. He graduated from Del Norte High School and CNM. Scott loved hunting and serving others through his work at Sandia Hospice and Kirtland 377th Wing at Kirtland AFB. One of his greatest joys was the company of his many pets. Scott was preceded in death by his father, Charles Porter in 2001 and step-father, Charles Miller, also in 2001. He is survived by his wife of twelve years, Marianne A. Porter of Albuquerque; mother, Marlene Miller of Los Alamos, NM; sister Randi Zavislan and husband Michael of Pueblo, CO; brother, Steven Porter and wife Irene of Los Alamos, NM; three nieces, Michelle, Melissa, and Ariana; step-mother, Carmen Porter of Albuquerque; and mother-in-law, Phyllis Bright of Albuquerque. Pallbearers will be David Lewis, Eric Lewis, Jerrod Shiplet, Steven Porter, David Bright, and Dr. Patrick Nassaux. Honorary pallbearers are Victor Bright, Jr. and Mike Zavislan. It has been suggested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Scott's name to the Albuquerque Animal Humane Society, 615 Virginia SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108 or to the Watermelon Mountain Ranch, 1512 Deborah Rd.
