SERGIO D'ANTONI was born July 5, 1938 and passed away March 19, 2014 peacefully in his wife's loving arms from lung disease (IPF Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis) Sergio moved from Walton, NY to Rio Rancho in 1996. Sergio was born in Porec, Croatia and grew up in Mali Losin, Croatia. As life goes after WWII the family moved to Italy then to Chile, South America and in 1963 to New York City. Sergio was a machinist and machine shop supervisor for Millar Elevator Company in New York City. His hobby was Remote Control Sail Boats. He competed in many races in NY and was a champion. He was one of the organizers of Duke City Model Yacht Club when he moved to New Mexico where he enjoyed sailing on weekends until he became ill. He was a fan of Italian soccer games, also enjoyed music and cowboy movies. He loved living here in the Southwest. He was proceeded in death by his mother Maria Travas and father Antonio. Sergio is survived by his loving wife Maya; two sons Leo and wife Helen, Gabe and former wife Pam Grossman D'Antoni; stepson John G. Blaskovic with wife Colleen; and two granddaughter's Jonna and Kayla Blaskovic. Sergio also is survived by his stepmom Maria; brother's Claudio, and Aldo; sister Carmen, plus many nieces and nephews and their children. He will be buried at later date in NY.
