Age 97, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015. He was born in Albuquerque, NM on May 1, 1918, to Severiano F. and Floy (Summit) Naranjo. He graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School, and attended the University of New Mexico. He worked as an Architect for Burkes Architectural firm and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Frank served his country in the United States Army for four years in 1941; he served during WWII and was honored with the European, African, Middle Eastern Service Metal, American Defense Service Metal, Good Conduct Metal, and Marksman Metal.
He married Sophie Villareal on February 23, 1952 in Alcalde, NM, they were married for over 63 years. Frank enjoyed bowling, dancing, and drawing. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Risen Savior Catholic Community.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sophie Naranjo; brothers, Mark Naranjo, and sisters Rose Clark and Kathren.
Frank is survived by his daughter, Vanessa and husband Tony Hernandez of Albuquerque, NM; son, Matthew Naranjo of Espanola, NM; sister, Floy Agnes Lee of Santa Fe, NM; grandchildren, Yana Naranjo of Albuquerque, NM and Daniel Naranjo of Espanola, NM, Brandon Hernandez of Houston, TX and Audriana Hernandez of Albuquerque, NM.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, September 4, 2015, at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Wyoming Chapel, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Reverend Timothy A. Martinez as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith NE, Albuquerque, NM. Frank will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
